Pros & Cons

  • What I love most about Capgemini is the incredible culture. Everyone is genuinely friendly, supportive, and always willing to help one another. It creates a positive and welcoming environment that makes coming to work truly enjoyable!
  • Capgemini offers a rich Learning & Development platform that empowers employees to upskill in emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies through curated courses, certifications, and hands-on labs. The company fosters a friendly and supportive culture where collaboration and knowledge sharing are encouraged, making it easy to grow professionally. With clear career progression paths, internal mobility opportunities, and access to global projects, Capgemini provides a strong foundation for long-term career growth and development
  • Work at home flexibility and communication
  • The graduate cohort has been really great and supportive, including the mentors, people managers, etc. The work culture is also pretty good
  • One of the things I like most about working for my employer is the supportive and collaborative culture. The Sydney office has a great atmosphere, with modern facilities and a friendly vibe that makes coming to work enjoyable, especially with perks like a barista making your favourite coffee. There's a strong emphasis on flexibility, professional development, and teamwork, which helps you grow while feeling valued. The projects, like working on Azure integrations for Ausgrid, are both challenging and rewarding, giving me the opportunity to apply my skills in meaningful ways while continuously learning
  • My only dissatisfaction is a salary raise after graduate program, for a data scientist, 60k is way below the difficulty and value of the work
  • Workload can be unpredictable. Some weeks are cruisy, others are flat out. It really depends on the client and project, so it can be hard to plan ahead sometimes
  • It can be tricky moving into different projects and clients, where it feels like you are onboarding to a whole other company and have to manage the politics of multiple managers and multiple responsibilities
  • Extended bench time (in some cases).
  • Constant weekend work.

Career Prospects
I’m very grateful for my promotion experience. I’ve seen—and been offered—promotion opportunities based on the work I deliver, particularly the quality of my output and the satisfaction from both clients and team members. Capgemini has definitely provided opportunities to support my career aspirations. The promotion process feels fair and performance-driven, and I’ve felt recognised for the value I bring to the team.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility
As a Consultant at Capgemini, I’ve witnessed a genuine and ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). While I haven’t been deeply involved in CSR initiatives, I did participate in a volunteer event with OzHarvest last year focused on reducing food waste—a truly rewarding experience. The company actively promotes sustainability, digital inclusion, and community engagement through well-structured programs like Impact Together Month. I’ve seen colleagues enthusiastically involved and leadership offering sincere support. CSR is also embedded in Capgemini’s inclusive culture and values, which I experience daily. It’s inspiring to be part of an organisation that takes its social responsibilities seriously.

Culture
9.4
Culture
Capgemini easily has the best workplace culture I've ever experienced. We are open to speaking to senior leaders, and everyone is overly supportive and communicative. I was told that Capgemini doesn't hire those who don't fit the culture, even if they could bring great value to sales, etc., and I completely believe that. I haven't met anyone with a bad attitude or anything along those lines.

Diversity
Capgemini fosters an extremely inclusive culture where everyone is treated equally and supported with genuine care and kindness. I’ve felt truly welcomed and valued here. The company offers a wide range of clubs, events, and training programs that actively promote diversity and inclusion. I would absolutely recommend Capgemini to others—if you join us, I’m confident you’ll feel the same sense of belonging and support!

Satisfaction
To be honest, I haven’t encountered any major downsides in my experience at Capgemini. The work environment is inclusive and supportive, and I feel genuinely valued as part of the team. Every challenge I’ve faced—such as relocating from Adelaide to Sydney or transitioning into a Power BI Developer role—has come with guidance and encouragement. The company’s culture of collaboration and continuous learning has made these changes smooth and rewarding. At this stage, I’m simply enjoying the experience and grateful for the opportunities to grow, contribute, and pursue my passion in technology.

Extremely accessible, amazing mentors, and we have frequent catch-ups. They provide performance feedback and praise/recognise our efforts when applicable.

Office Work Environment
The office is conveniently located in the CBD and offers excellent facilities. One thing I really appreciate is how clean and well-maintained the bathrooms are—it’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference! We also enjoy complimentary coffee, which is a great perk. On top of that, there are always free snacks and fresh fruit available, along with occasional surprise treats that vary day to day, which definitely adds a cheerful touch to the work environment.

Salary
I'm happy with the salary package offered in my role. It’s competitive and reflects the responsibilities I carry as a Consultant. What I especially value are the non-monetary benefits—like the ability to relocate interstate, which gives me flexibility and career mobility. I also appreciate the strong support for training and development, which has helped me grow professionally and stay up to date with the latest tools and practices.

Training

Training
We started with 2 weeks of onboarding, which was filled with workshops, masterclasses, and group work activities, which was quite intensive. After this, we moved into 11 weeks of an 80-20 split of "work" and learning. 4 of our days were reserved for a project in which we could be billable to a client or doing non-billable activities for our teams. The remaining "day," which was split across the week was for doing institute activities, which involved a mix of practical tasks, presentations, and masterclasses. Throughout these 11 weeks, we had great weekly mentoring sessions with our institute coaches and people managers who answered any questions we had and assisted us throughout our first few months. After the 11 week,s we were then fully billable to clients, still having ongoing mentoring and masterclasses every few weeks in addition to other training courses. For A grade, 100 learning hours are required.

Work Hours
Work hours are flexible - usually depend on the requirements of the client. Same with remote working - we have a mandated 3 days in the office if not required to go to a client site, but it's not super strongly enforced. If required to go to the client site, working arrangements are dependent on their requirements, so they may differ greatly.

Sustainability

Sustainability
In my view, Capgemini takes sustainability seriously. The company offers mandatory training modules like the Sustainability-Awareness-Module and access to the Sustainability-Campus, which provide employees with practical knowledge and tools to support sustainable practices in their roles. There are also company-wide discussions, activities, and recognition programs that reward staff for contributing to sustainability goals. In the office, sustainability is visible through initiatives like Green Farm Wall, detailed rubbish separation systems, and energy-efficient infrastructure.
