There are different corporate social responsibility initiatives that the Organisation has undertaken. In my short time here as a graduate I have witnessed both internal and external examples. There is a drive for ethical and transparent business practices by ensuring transparent reporting and oversight.

The workplace culture is very positive, everyone is focused on delivering the best results while supporting one another, and the Organisation truly values work‑life balance, making it a great, uplifting place to work.

There is a strong focus on diversity and inclusion, with events and celebrations that highlight a wide range of cultures, backgrounds and identities throughout the year.

Day to day tasks always feel meaningful and like I am contributing to something bigger, even when the tasks themselves are small and seemingly insignificant. As with all public service role, the pace of work can ebb and flow.

Managers often give us the freedom to own our projects and make decisions within clear guidelines, yet they remain highly accessible through regular check‑ins, open communication, and timely constructive feedback. At the same time, they actively promote professional and personal growth to continuously develop our skills.

The facilities are modern, comfortable, clean and very pleasant to work in. Dress code is role dependent and can range from practical/smart casual to business formal.

The interview process and assessments were well thought out and engaging. Personally, I had an enjoyable experience with the interview, where both individual and group assessments were required. The interviewers were very patient and kind throughout the process, as well as informative – I had a great experience!

Graduate salaries are very competitive and generous, compared with similar roles in the industry for graduates. Employees also receive 15.4% superannuation on top of their salary package.

ASIO’s graduate program is comprehensive! It is designed to expose you to many aspects of the Organisation and broaden your skills within your specialisation, within ASIO and the broader APS. They invest heavily and continuously in their people. There is a constant offering of learning opportunities within the program and outside of it.

I have enjoyed a lot of flexibility in my role, which has allowed me to adjust my work around other external commitments. Management has always been supportive of work-life balance.
