What You'll Do
This position presents an excellent opportunity for students seeking to develop business skills in one of the world’s leading consulting firms. A general comfort with computers and problem-solving is necessary; however, more advanced technical skills are not required nor expected. Liberal Arts students are especially welcome to apply.
As a member of the Business Process Enablement - HR group within our IT team, this position is primarily responsible for supporting the operations and system configurations for our HR teams. This role will help support internal customers from around the globe with varying technological, process, and analytical queries, while gaining direct experience in one of the market leaders in talent technology and Bain’s core people system, Workday.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Maintain Workday Helpdesk (70%)
- You will maintain the ‘front line’ for questions related to use of Workday functionality or data
- You will collaborate with global stakeholders, escalating issues to the appropriate person or group
- You will execute assigned queries and tasks, displaying strong time management
- Collaborate with internal team to identify and configure reports to support business needs
- You will manage bulk system updates: validating provided data, transforming it per the system requirements, testing and troubleshooting related failures, and communicating the results to the relevant stakeholders.
- You will take ownership of your process by identifying trends and highlighting technical issues to provide recommendations to enhance the system and process long-term
- You will maintain user security, understanding the broad impacts and validating roles/responsibilities
Documentation and Training (25%)
- You will maintain documentation of applications, policies, procedures, and reporting
- You will ensure integrity through periodic testing and data checks
- You will develop and maintain new training materials
- You will provide real-time guidance and training for end-users
Testing and support of new configuration (5%)
- You will provide input on user interface design and experience
- You will execute test plans to ensure changes are fully vetted
- You will participate in the testing of periodic product upgrades
- You will weigh in on configuration changes and work with the team to test and roll out new functionality

Key Requirements
- Full-time availability (e.g., Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week) throughout the internship duration
- Located in or able to be located in Boston for the duration of the internship
- Candidates should not be enrolled in ongoing courses or have competing academic responsibilities during this internship
- Strong time management skills and ability to commit fully to the role
