At Jacobs, Civil and Environmental Engineering Interns support water resources and water/wastewater projects for local and global clients.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Develop and apply environmental and water resources analyses for water management planning and design studies at local, regional, state, and federal levels
  • Plan and design water storage, conveyance, and distribution projects
  • Perform research, technical writing, and develop documentation and studies
  • Collect, process, and analyze data to support water resources planning activities
  • Conduct field investigations and water quality testing on full-scale water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • Perform water treatment facility pilots and desktop treatment analysis including membrane performance projections and mass/flow balances
  • Support evaluations, design, and commissioning of water/wastewater treatment projects
  • Collaborate with professional engineers, scientists, and senior technical staff, receiving expert mentorship

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Enrollment in a degree-seeking program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Previous intern experience with a consulting or engineering firm preferred
  • Relevant coursework or projects
  • EIT certification or on track to obtain
  • Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $40,000 to $60,000, paid hourly based on hours worked
  • Salary determined by work location, skills, experience, and education
