Join AECOM as a Water Engineering Intern supporting civil design teams on water and wastewater projects in Florida with a hybrid work model.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Assist in planning, designing, and implementing water and wastewater projects for various clients.
  • Support hydraulic modeling preparation for potable water, reclaimed water, and wastewater systems.
  • Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic and final working drawings under supervision.
  • Perform engineering analyses and prepare reports and technical specifications under supervision.
  • Collaborate within project teams to meet project objectives within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collect and analyze data, perform field work, and conduct site inspections under supervision.
  • Attend site visits and client meetings.
  • Maintain project records, contribute to progress reports, and communicate updates to team members and supervisors.
  • Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level member.

About You

The company is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or related field with at least 3 years completed, or recent graduates planning to continue with a Master’s degree.
  • Degree emphasis preferred in water resources, water or wastewater treatment, or conveyance/pipelines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated growth potential and desire to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Proficient in Civil 3D, Revit, ArcMap, SWMM, ICPR, or other engineering software packages.
  • Detail-oriented with understanding of project goals.
  • Interest in water/wastewater infrastructure design.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly compensation: USD 22 - USD 26.
