Join AECOM as a Water Engineering Intern supporting civil design teams on water and wastewater projects in Florida with a hybrid work model.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Assist in planning, designing, and implementing water and wastewater projects for various clients.
- Support hydraulic modeling preparation for potable water, reclaimed water, and wastewater systems.
- Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic and final working drawings under supervision.
- Perform engineering analyses and prepare reports and technical specifications under supervision.
- Collaborate within project teams to meet project objectives within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Collect and analyze data, perform field work, and conduct site inspections under supervision.
- Attend site visits and client meetings.
- Maintain project records, contribute to progress reports, and communicate updates to team members and supervisors.
- Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level member.
About You
The company is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or related field with at least 3 years completed, or recent graduates planning to continue with a Master’s degree.
- Degree emphasis preferred in water resources, water or wastewater treatment, or conveyance/pipelines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated growth potential and desire to learn.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Proficient in Civil 3D, Revit, ArcMap, SWMM, ICPR, or other engineering software packages.
- Detail-oriented with understanding of project goals.
- Interest in water/wastewater infrastructure design.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly compensation: USD 22 - USD 26.
