Join Arcadis as a Water Engineer Intern or Co-op, focusing on water, wastewater, stormwater planning, design, and construction administration.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Planning, design, and construction administration for water, wastewater, stormwater, and water management projects.
  • Facilities planning, project design, permitting, and construction administration activities.
  • Developing design reports and construction documents.
  • Working on treatment plants, pumping systems, pipelines, green infrastructure, and flood protection projects.
  • Conducting site visits, observing construction, collecting samples, analyzing water quality data, and evaluating technologies and plant operations.
  • Troubleshooting processes and optimizing operations.
  • Conducting condition assessments and performance evaluations of water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities.
  • Exercising judgment on work details and making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Communicating effectively with staff, clients, and subcontractors, including preparing and delivering presentations and participating in client meetings.
  • Preference given to local candidates; relocation assistance is not available.

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Prior internship experience preferred.
  • Upperclassmen or Masters students preferred.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, flexible, with initiative to take on new projects and challenges.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and client-facing abilities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly salary range: $16.50 - $35.00
