Opportunity expired
A vacation clerkship is a great way to experience first-hand what life is like as a White & Case graduate.
You'll be welcomed into our team, where you'll undertake a number of meaningful and challenging tasks. You'll have the opportunity to attend client meetings, work on pro bono matters and broaden your understanding of the life cycle of the deals or matters that your team is working on.
There will be opportunities to learn about our global firm and our Australia and Asia-Pacific practice areas in more detail, and understand the graduate program we offer. Throughout the clerkship, you will work closely with your Supervisor (a partner), a Mentor (an associate), and a Buddy (a junior associate or current graduate), who will provide you with assistance, advice, and both formal and informal feedback. Additionally, in-house training and events will allow you to better understand the work we do and the service we offer to our clients.
The social side of Firm life is important, and you will have plenty of opportunities to play an active part in our Melbourne office by participating in office-wide social or sporting events—a great chance to get to know our small and engaged team on a more informal level

Law
White & Case is a global elite law firm with a top-tier Australian offering.
Excellent overseas opportunities.
Great people, great work opportunities.
Excellent mobility opportunities.
Another important pro is the significant training and development opportunities that are available, and which have practical applications.
The Sydney office is beautiful and has recently been renovated. It's spacious, open plan, with 360-degree views of Sydney and its harbour.
Little work life balance, feeling unable to switch off from work.
Although the firm allows working from home, the current team I am in requires full time in office attendance. However, the team also requires me to be contactable on weekends and after work during the week.
I find that the culture varies greatly between teams. Some teams are very supportive and cooperative and others less so.
Lesser known in the Australian market.
Lack of responsibility.
