Join Google as a User Experience Research Intern to design and conduct user research, collaborating across teams to drive user-centric product decisions.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and conduct independent research using qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Work cross-functionally with design, engineering, and product management to ensure user-centric, data-driven decisions.
- Effectively communicate research findings and advocate for them beyond the project team.
- Collect and analyze user behavior through lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, server logs, and online experiments (A/B testing).
About You
The company is looking for:
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Human Factors, Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Information Science, or related field.
- Internship, work, or project experience with research design utilizing various methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys).
- English proficiency and located in the United States for the duration of the internship.
- Preferred: Currently attending a US degree program and available full-time for 12 weeks outside university term time.
- Preferred: In penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after internship completion.
- Preferred: Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
- Preferred: Knowledge of statistics and experimental design.
- Preferred: Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- US base salary range: $86,000 - $115,000, determined by role, level, and location.
- Salary excludes bonus, equity, or benefits.
