Join Sargent & Lundy as an Associate Engineering Intern to support transmission and distribution projects with a hybrid work schedule.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Work on a project team in the Grid business unit, assisting engineering team members with project execution.
- Contribute to the design, modifications, and upgrades of transmission and distribution engineering projects.
- Assist in preparing engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Support project reporting by tracking and evaluating project activities, progress, and data.
- Participate in power designs and prepare documents and specifications for the procurement of major equipment, structures, and installation services.
- Work under the direction of senior engineers.
- Hybrid work arrangement: three days in office, two days remote.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with expected graduation in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.
- Candidates in other engineering degrees are considered if coursework includes civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Self-starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
- Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.
- U.S. work authorization required; no sponsorship provided.
- Preferred but not required: enrollment in an ABET-accredited program, leadership experience, minimum 3.0 GPA, prior related internship or co-op experience.
