Join Philips for a paid 3-month Toxicology internship in Murrysville, PA, gaining hands-on experience in medical device safety and risk assessment.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Generate chemical safety profiles to support Toxicological Risk Assessments for medical devices based on ISO 10993/ISO 18562 compliance testing results.
- Support building and expanding the toxicology database.
- Collaborate with internal Toxicologists, Biological Safety Scientists, Engineers, and external laboratory scientists to support Philips Respironics medical devices.
- Support and co-lead study design, monitoring, and interpretation of In Vitro, In Vivo, or pre-clinical biocompatibility studies conducted under Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Work effectively with global and cross-functional matrix teams.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Currently pursuing a minimum of a BS in Toxicology or a related field; MS or PhD desired.
- Knowledge of biological test methods for compliance to ISO 10993 (required) and ISO 18562 (desired).
- Proven strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Curiosity and keen interest in learning, sharing knowledge, and seeking innovative improvements in systems and work processes.
- Ability to embrace change, operate with discipline, and meet organizational and business objectives.
- Ability to perform minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements with or without accommodation.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: Bachelor Level $24–29/hr, Masters Level $33–46/hr, PhD Level $36–55/hr plus overtime eligibility.
- Actual base pay varies based on knowledge, skills, experience, business needs, location, and internal equity.
