Tesla seeks a Technical Editor Intern to create and refine diagnostic procedures, collaborating with engineering teams in a dynamic service engineering environment.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Create and update diagnostic information and procedures in the diagnostics database
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to gather technical information
  • Translate technical problems for non-technical audiences
  • Validate information accuracy and manage document approval processes
  • Edit content according to style guides and enforce organizational standards
  • Manage tasks and information flow using collaboration software such as JIRA, Wrike, SharePoint, Quickbase, and custom databases

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Pursuing a degree in Technical Writing or a related field with graduation between April 2026 and December 2027
  • Ability to create and edit clear, accurate, concise documentation
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Aptitude for transcribing written words from non-native speakers
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication
  • Experience with various communication media and advanced formatting and presentation skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, able to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Markup language experience (HTML, XML, DITA XML, or SGML) is a plus

  • Hourly pay range: $22.84 - $31.97 plus benefits
