Systems Engineer Intern- Summer (Jun 2026)

Join Medpace as a Systems Engineer Intern supporting Core Infrastructure with hands-on experience in Microsoft and virtualization technologies.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Support entry-level internships within the Core Infrastructure team
• Work with on-premise servers running Microsoft technologies including SharePoint, Skype for Business, Exchange, IIS Web Servers, SQL Server, Active Directory, System Center
• Assist with Azure Infrastructure and Applications, including Office 365 technologies
• Support VMWare infrastructure in Cincinnati and international datacenters
• Manage storage networks onsite and globally using EMC and Pure
• Assist with backup operations using CommVault and Symantec BackupExec
• Support SDWAN with Silver Peak and traditional Windows Server administration
• Work with Dell Server hardware
• Automate tasks and processes using shell scripting where applicable

About You

The company is looking for:

• Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Strong desire to learn and grow with a solid technical foundation
• Self-directed with the ability to research solutions and propose creative ideas
• Effective communication skills with peers, end users, and management
• Familiarity with Windows Server and virtualization technologies
• Understanding of systems side of data center management
• Shell scripting and automation skills are a plus
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic with a “do what it takes” mindset
