Summer AI Science Intern (Jun 2026)

Join Intuit as an AI Science Intern to develop machine learning models and collaborate with experts to enhance customer experiences.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Gather, clean, and perform exploratory analysis on large datasets to uncover patterns and prepare them for modeling.
• Build, train, and evaluate various machine learning and deep learning models.
• Dive into cutting-edge AI research and methodologies to inform new solutions and stay ahead of the curve.
• Analyze model results and data to extract meaningful insights and provide actionable recommendations.
• Develop proofs-of-concept for innovative, AI-driven features or solutions.
• Work closely with diverse teams, including AI Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Analysts, Software Engineers, and product managers, communicating findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Create clear documentation for research, model architectures, code, and experimental results.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science or a related technical field, or a Bachelors or Masters program with prior relevant experience.
• Graduation date at least 4 months after the end of the internship and returning to academic institution after Summer 2026, with graduation December 2026 or later.
• Desire to learn and grow within a technical environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with machine learning techniques (regression, classification, clustering, optimization) and their mathematical foundations.
• Ability to explore, discover, and import data from multiple sources and prepare it for machine learning.
• Strong programming skills, preferably in Python and Scala.
• Experience developing machine learning solutions for real-world problems.
• Experience with Hadoop or Spark.
• Published works in top-tier data science and machine learning conferences is a plus.
• Legal authorization to work full-time in the US during the internship.
• Ability to work onsite at least 3 days per week in Mountain View, San Diego, New York, or Atlanta.

• Expected base pay range in Mountain View, CA: $36.50 - $73.79 USD per hour.
