Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, analyze, and test mechanical systems, propulsion systems, and structures.
- Integrate materials and processes, manufacturing, test, operations, and systems engineering.
- Participate in the full design cycle: requirements derivation, conceptual and detailed design, system performance modeling, structural analysis, manufacturing and integration support, development testing, and qualification.
- Assist in assembly and testing of development and flight hardware including planning, execution, data reduction, and analysis.
- Identify and implement design changes to improve system reliability and reduce operational costs.
- Work across multiple business units and be matched to teams based on skillset and business needs.
About You
The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- Minimum BS degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field earned within the last year, with availability to start by Fall 2026.
- Basic understanding of design fundamentals including requirements identification, material selection, form factors, interface definition, and environmental considerations.
- Basic proficiency in 3D CAD software (Creo Pro/E preferred) and drawing creation.
- Basic proficiency in strength and mechanics of materials, structural analysis, and finite element analysis (ANSYS preferred).
- Relevant internship, co-op, or hands-on experience demonstrating technical skills and leadership qualities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on rapid development programs with a flexible and adaptable mindset.
- Strong interpersonal skills to earn trust and maintain professional relationships within an inclusive culture.
- Desired qualifications include MS degree, experience with flight control actuators, deployable devices, hydraulic components, separation systems, aerospace materials, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), machining, mechanical component testing, test instrumentation, and fatigue/damage tolerance fundamentals.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary ranges by location: CA and WA $81,313.00 - $113,837.85; CO $74,537.00 - $104,351.10; other sites may vary.
