Assist engineering teams in structural design and project execution for power plant and industrial systems at Sargent & Lundy.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Work on project teams assisting engineering members in project execution.
  • Design new and/or modify and upgrade existing power plant or industrial systems, components, and structures.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
  • Review engineering submittals such as equipment information and shop drawings from outside sources.
  • Work under the direction of senior engineers to apply and expand structural engineering knowledge.

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Expected graduation date in Winter 2025 or Spring 2026 toward a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Strong academic background and coursework in behavior of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, reinforced concrete design, and foundation design.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong PC skills.
  • Prior related internship or co-op experience.
  • U.S. work authorization without sponsorship (no sponsorship provided).
  • Valued but not required: understanding of practical structural engineering applications and knowledge of MathCad, STAAD PRO, SAP2000, SAFE, or ANSYS.

  • Hourly wage range: $17.50 - $27.00.
