The Software Engineer role at Voleon involves designing scalable, high-performance software for trading and research in a leading AI-driven finance firm.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Lead and collaborate on software projects, including trading infrastructure, data processing, and model development pipelines
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust software supporting trading strategies and research initiatives
  • Engage in complex projects from requirements gathering to software design and implementation
  • Work closely with traders, quantitative researchers, and engineers to create scalable, efficient, and resilient solutions
  • Collaborate with Senior Software Engineers and receive mentorship and coaching

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Experience developing in Linux environments, focusing on performance, concurrency, and correctness using Python, R, Java, Go, or C/C++
  • Proven backend engineering skills with databases, large-scale data processing, and highly available services
  • Ability to design, develop, and deploy backend applications from design specifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective cross-functional teamwork
  • Familiarity with modern deployment and build tools such as Kubernetes and Bazel (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field (Graduating class of 2026)
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $160,000 to $170,000, determined by education, experience, skills, and location
  • Bonus compensation and other benefits are not included in the base salary
