Software Engineer, New Grad (Start ASAP)

Join Whatnot as a Software Engineer, New Grad to build scalable live shopping features and innovate in a fast-growing e-commerce platform.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Building new features for users in live-streams
• Implementing growth tactics and strategies to scale buyer and seller flows
• Building scalable systems to deliver a high trust marketplace experience
• Writing product or system development code
• Designing, implementing, and operating critical and scalable services
• Evaluating technical tradeoffs for every decision
• Supporting features from design through implementation and launch
• Triage product or system issues and debug/resolve by analyzing sources of issues, network, or service operations and quality
• Working with a high level of autonomy and making sound product decisions

About You

The company is looking for:

• Graduates with a CS or Software Engineering degree by Dec 2025 or Summer 2026
• Industry software engineering experience
• Strong problem-solving and out-of-the-box thinking skills
• Willingness to take risks and build products for 1M+ users
• Capability to build scalable systems
• Excellent product instincts, prioritizing user needs over technical solutions
• Proven ability to ship products and features quickly
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Open to relocation to New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Seattle
• Must live within commuting distance of one of the specified hubs

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $140K – $150K plus equity
