Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

We’re looking for the next generation of Canvanauts!

Canva’s 12-week, remote-friendly program runs from early December to late February, giving you the chance to work on meaningful, real-life projects from start to finish. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit our campus and experience the magic of Canva in person—consider your summer sorted.

Throughout the internship, you'll be supported by a dedicated Host and Buddy—your go-to people for guidance, support, and all the inside scoop on life at Canva.

You’ll be part of a welcoming and inclusive Early Talent community of peers that take pride in Canva’s culture of being good humans and empowering each other to achieve our big goals.

Ready to kickstart your journey with us? We’d love to meet you.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. If you call New Zealand home, we have our Auckland co-working space too.

But where you work is up to you. Whether you’re keen on office vibes, prefer the comfort of home, or like a bit of both—we support flexible working, so you can do your best work, your way.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Creating Fun and Impactful Social Content: Support the creation of engaging content for Canva’s social platforms. You'll turn ideas into eye-catching posts, videos, and stories that represent Canva’s voice and values.
  • Staying On Top of Trends: Help identify trends across TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms. You’ll bring fresh ideas to the team that tie cultural moments back to Canva’s tools and community.
  • Supporting Content Production: Assist with scripting, filming, and editing short-form videos that connect with our audience. You’ll learn how to build content that captures attention from the very first second.
  • Developing Filming & Editing Skills: Use mobile apps and Canva tools to produce content. You’ll get hands-on experience filming and editing social video content.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Team: Work closely with social media managers and creatives to brainstorm, refine, and deliver content. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from experienced Canvanauts and grow your creative skills.
  • Be the Face of Canva (if you're keen!) Comfortable in front of the camera? You might help represent Canva on TikTok, sharing our story with energy and authenticity.

You're probably a match if

  • You are currently enrolled and completing your studies between 2026 and mid-2027.
  • You are based in Australia or New Zealand and have working rights. Please note that Canva will not be able to sponsor visas and relocate for Early Talent roles.
  • You are ready to present a portfolio of personal projects from inside or outside the classroom that showcases your flair for storytelling and social-first content.
  • You have a basic understanding of social trends and insights and are able to bring them to life through mobile-first video content format.
  • You have hands on experience in creating social content using different devices including professional camera or mobile phone
  • You’re able to edit video using Canva or similar tools
  • You enjoy collaborative working environments and idea exchanges.
  • You have the ability to receive constructive feedback on work.
  • You are a great problem solver able to clearly articulate your ideas.
  • You’re a great team player, open to collaboration and active contribution to brainstorming sessions.
  • You have good organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • You are excited to explore AI tools and use them in smart, helpful ways to boost your workflow.
  • You are able to commit to the 12-week, full-time summer program from early December 2025 to late February 2026.

We are welcoming applications for the Content Creator Internship until 11th May 2025, only.
Following this advertisement closure date, successful applicants will be reached out to directly to proceed to the next step of our Canva Early Talent hiring process.

Here at Canva, we endeavour to respond to every applicant regardless of the outcome, should you not be successful, we will respond to your application within 5 working days after the job closure date.

Pros and cons of working at Canva

Pros

  • Great culture, great perks, love the product

  • Free food, snacks and drinks - 2000$ annually towards your own personal hobbies, fitness and wellbeing - Impactful work at an innovative company - Remote work available

  • Flexible working hours - generous benefits - culture of doing good engineering

  • I like working in such an inclusive and inviting environment. The ego-less nature of the company allows for most, if not all, employees to thrive

  • The culture and work-life balance at Canva is amazing! It helps me unlock my full working potential as I am encouraged to work at my own pace and to the best of my comfort.

Cons

    • No keyboards and mice in the office; you have to bring your own.

    • Sometimes, a lot of your team might be remote/not in the same state, so it may be hard on some people.

    • Sometimes feel constrained by process, not very agile - dev tooling is somewhat bad - team feels somewhat underprepared for a grad, expected to hit the ground running

    • The downside is not being able to visit the main office in Sydney during grad week as it was reimagined. Previous cohorts and even the exiting intern cohort got to visit Sydney for the week and we didn't.

    • If you live in an area that does not have a hub or office, there will be less interaction unless you go to the office. This makes it hard for people to network and meet up regularly.
