Security (Product, Systems, Cyber) Engineering Internship (May 2026)

Join Qualcomm as a Security Engineering Intern to collaborate on securing mobile, IoT, and connectivity devices with cutting-edge technology.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with engineers to enhance security of systems and products powering billions of devices
• Gain hands-on experience protecting real-world devices and systems from attacks
• Work cross-functionally with engineers and stakeholders to secure complex infrastructure and applications
• Support one or more technical tracks: Product Security Engineering, Secure Systems Engineering, or Cybersecurity Engineering

About You

The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Security, Information Systems, or related field
• Available for 11–14 weeks during Summer 2026 (May–September)
• Expected graduation date of November 2026 or later
• Preferred graduation between November 2026 and June 2027
• Track 1: Product Security Engineering – experience in threat modeling, security risk assessment, fuzzing, program analysis, exploit countermeasures, cryptographic assessment, cellular and wireless security, incident response; strong programming and problem-solving skills; 1+ years academic experience in computer systems or embedded device security; preferred MS or Ph.D. candidates
• Track 2: Secure Systems Engineering – experience with secure OS features, hypervisors, secure boot, key management, automotive safety/security; knowledge of systems security and programming languages (C, C++, Java, Python); 1+ years academic experience; preferred BS or MS candidates
• Track 3: Cybersecurity Engineering – experience in OT security, application security, security architecture, GRC, threat hunting, incident response, automation, risk management; knowledge of cybersecurity principles, ML/AI, security frameworks, cryptography, forensics; programming experience in Java, C, C++, C#, Go, Python, PowerShell, Bash, Perl; preferred BS candidates

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly pay range: $17.00 - $98.00
