Cisco is seeking a Security Consulting Engineer Intern to support customers in planning, designing, deploying, and optimizing security solutions while gaining technical and consultative skills.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Attend on-site design and configuration sessions with a Security Consulting mentor
  • Collect requirements from customers to meet critical business goals
  • Work with a team mentor to define business goals and requirements for integration efforts
  • Analyze and design policy creation for Identity Services, Firewalls, Visibility Solutions, and Cloud-based solutions
  • Analyze customer configurations and provide feedback to improve alignment with business goals
  • Learn and understand Security Policies, Standards, Procedures, and Guidelines
  • Demonstrate programming skills (Java/Python/C++) and use open source automation platforms (Ansible/Chef/Terraform) to develop custom automation using Cisco APIs

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Currently enrolled in a certification program or undergraduate degree in Information Systems, Cyber Security, Computer Networking, Computer Science, or Engineering
  • Knowledge of IT systems, networking concepts, TCP/IP protocols, network devices and applications, OSI 7-layer model, or code development
  • Legal authorization to live and work in the country without visa support or sponsorship
  • Passion for Information Security and willingness to learn complex concepts
  • Ability to work well in small dynamic teams and balance multiple responsibilities
  • Desire and ability to collaborate across US teams
  • Comfortable handling ambiguity and unknowns in technical projects
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
