Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Work with the AECOM ecological team to learn field survey equipment, data forms, and data collection/reporting tools.
- Assist ecological teams in wetland, wildlife habitat assessments, and other ecological field surveys.
- Help write and develop field data sheets and reports.
- Coordinate with governmental agencies on ecological survey protocols, reporting standards, and endangered species coordination.
- Create field maps and report mapping using GIS programs, specifically ESRI software.
- Review desktop information to complete environmental impact assessments.
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration, office and field-based project work, and both in-person and virtual work environments.
- Engage in meetings and trainings as part of the internship experience.
About You
The company is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Environmental Studies, GIS, or related field with at least 2 years completed, or recent graduates planning to pursue a Master’s degree.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License with ability to pass Motor Vehicle Records review.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment, both in-person and virtually.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred experience with GIS software, especially ESRI ArcPro and ArcMap.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Flexibility with schedules including travel to meet training and project deadlines.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage: USD 19.57 - USD 23
