Join Brinkmann Constructors as a Safety Intern to support safety management, compliance, and project safety initiatives in a hands-on construction environment.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Assist with the corporate-wide Safety management program, ensuring government and company compliance.
- Help develop and implement job-specific safety plans.
- Coordinate inspections with internal and external representatives and assist with the claims process.
- Attend weekly subcontractor meetings to stay involved in project progress and safety matters.
- Monitor safety efforts of subcontractors and Brinkmann employees.
- Enforce government and company regulations by conducting job site inspections and addressing issues.
- Review documentation to ensure all required onsite records and reports are complete, accurate, and submitted per procedures.
- Schedule jobsite visits and safety audits.
- Conduct documented Project Safety and Health Inspections.
- Work directly with the Senior Safety Manager or Safety Manager.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field.
- Preferred knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
- Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
- Ability to work with all levels in the organization from craft to leadership.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
- Ability to travel and relocate as required.
- Regular, reliable attendance and ability to meet deadlines timely.
- Effective and professional communication and interaction with supervisors, employees, and others.
- Ability to perform work safely and effectively, following oral and written instructions.
- Willingness to work during normal operating hours and at various locations with varying conditions.
- Preferred prior internship or work experience in the construction industry.
Training & Development
Gain hands-on experience and work directly with senior safety management to develop practical skills in construction safety and compliance.
