Safety Intern (Start ASAP)

Join Brinkmann Constructors as a Safety Intern to support safety management, compliance, and project safety initiatives in a hands-on construction environment.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Assist with the corporate-wide Safety management program, ensuring government and company compliance.
• Help develop and implement job-specific safety plans.
• Coordinate inspections with internal and external representatives and assist with the claims process.
• Attend weekly subcontractor meetings to stay involved in project progress and safety matters.
• Monitor safety efforts of subcontractors and Brinkmann employees.
• Enforce government and company regulations by conducting job site inspections and addressing issues.
• Review documentation to ensure all required onsite records and reports are complete, accurate, and submitted per procedures.
• Schedule jobsite visits and safety audits.
• Conduct documented Project Safety and Health Inspections.
• Work directly with the Senior Safety Manager or Safety Manager.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field.
• Preferred knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
• Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
• Ability to work with all levels in the organization from craft to leadership.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
• Ability to travel and relocate as required.
• Regular, reliable attendance and ability to meet deadlines timely.
• Effective and professional communication and interaction with supervisors, employees, and others.
• Ability to perform work safely and effectively, following oral and written instructions.
• Willingness to work during normal operating hours and at various locations with varying conditions.
• Preferred prior internship or work experience in the construction industry.

Training & Development

Gain hands-on experience and work directly with senior safety management to develop practical skills in construction safety and compliance.
