Arcadis seeks an entry-level Transportation Roadway Intern to assist with roadway design and transportation projects using OpenRoads and related software.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing conceptual designs and construction plans using OpenRoads design software
- Creating engineering designs involving geometric design of highways and streets, drainage design (hydrology and hydraulics)
- Completing construction engineering and inspection tasks
- Collecting traffic and highway field data
- Using software platforms such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, and related design and office software
- Assisting with transportation planning reports, roadway safety studies, and various traffic engineering projects
- Working within Design & Engineering teams and collaborating with technical experts
About You
The company is looking for:
- Currently seeking a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
- Preferred: EIT Certification
- Preferred: Experience using OpenRoads
- Basic understanding of geometric and traffic operations principles including AASHTO, MUTCD, and state DOT requirements/policies
