L3Harris seeks an Associate Quality Engineer for Calibration Lab in Waco, TX, responsible for calibration, maintenance, and quality compliance of TMDE.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, implement, and manage calibration procedures and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and quality systems.
  • Perform calibration and maintenance of Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
  • Analyze calibration data and generate reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits to assess process effectiveness and compliance.
  • Serve as Site calibration system Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing technical support and training.
  • Conduct Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), identify defect trends, and develop corrective/preventative action plans.
  • Utilize Lean methodology to improve calibration methods and techniques.
  • Maintain calibration database, monitor due dates, perform calibrations, and document all work performed.
  • Coordinate calibration with external vendors for instruments not calibrated internally.

About You

The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:

  • Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s Degree (within last 12 months).
  • Ability to investigate quality issues methodically and produce reports identifying containment, root cause, and corrective/preventative actions.
  • Excellent technical writing, oral communication, and presentation skills for reporting and briefing customers and senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with MS Office products.
  • Knowledge of Quality and Aerospace Industry Standards (ISO9001:2015, AS9100D, AS9110C, CMMI).
  • Ability to acquire a Security Clearance if required (US Citizenship required).
  • Thorough understanding of measurement science principles and metrological techniques.
  • Familiarity with interpreting technical specifications and standards.
  • Proficient in use of measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, torque testers, multimeters, gauge blocks, pin gauges, etc.
