Join Qualcomm Technologies as a Government Technologies Engineering Intern to support innovative wireless communication projects for government applications.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting government-sponsored research, development, integration, and testing of wireless terrestrial and satellite communication systems.
- Adapting and extending commercial systems to novel applications and environments.
- Collaborating across multiple disciplines within the company to deliver timely results to customers.
- Designing, developing, automating, documenting, and executing tests in coordination with other engineering disciplines.
- Occasional travel and effective teamwork in a technical, global environment.
- Working in either San Diego, CA or Boulder, CO locations.
About You
The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Availability for 11–14 weeks during Summer 2026 (May–September).
- Expected graduation date of November 2026 or later.
- At least 1 year of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Preferred candidates anticipate graduation between December 2026 and June 2027.
- Track-specific skills for Embedded Software include real-time embedded software development, cellular systems knowledge, communications systems understanding, familiarity with Git, Gerrit, debugging tools, digital signal processing, and software vulnerability analysis tools.
- Track-specific skills for Software in Test include test automation framework design with Python, test design and execution, cellular systems experience, communications systems understanding, wireless system evaluation, familiarity with application layer protocols, mobile OS experience (Linux, Android, iOS), and tools such as Linux, Git, Jenkins, Testlink, and Docker.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $17.00 - $98.00.
