Join Brinkmann Constructors as a Project Engineer to assist in managing construction projects with a focus on cost estimation, contract administration, and schedule management.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in day-to-day construction project management
- Identify and pursue new business development opportunities and maintain client relationships
- Prepare full cost estimates including quantity take-offs and pricing
- Participate in bid solicitation, bid package preparation, and analysis
- Assist in general contract and subcontract administration
- Prepare permit applications and maintain updated construction documents including as-builts
- Manage and process shop drawings and submittals
- Coordinate material and equipment procurement and expediting
- Facilitate the RFI process and document project coordination meetings
- Monitor project schedules to ensure adherence to key dates
- Initiate, review, and negotiate change orders
- Oversee the close-out process including punch list creation and completion
- Perform other duties as assigned
About You
The company is looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, architectural, or construction), construction management, or related field
- 0-2 years' experience in the construction industry
- Ability to travel or temporarily relocate for job assignments
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules
- Problem-solving skills to present alternative solutions
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications
- Passion for the industry, self-motivated, strong work ethic, time management, organized, detail-oriented, and creative
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring work authorization sponsorship now or in the future
