7-Eleven offers a summer internship focused on project controls in convenience store development, providing hands-on experience and cross-functional collaboration.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Introducing interns to tools, processes, and methodologies used in project controls for convenience store development
- Building foundational skills in cost tracking, schedule management, and performance reporting
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Real Estate, Entitlements, and Construction teams
- Assisting in developing and maintaining project data integrity in tools such as Unifier
- Supporting cost tracking and forecasting efforts for active development projects
- Analyzing historical data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement
- Participating in project review meetings and contributing to variance analysis and reporting
- Completing a project controls dashboard or reporting tool as a capstone assignment
About You
The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business, or related field
- Strong, clear, and concise communication and writing skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and prioritization skills
- Ability to independently lead projects and collaborate with cross-functional colleagues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications
Compensation & Benefits

Training & Development
- Work closely with a coach for regular project guidance, direction, and feedback
- Attend a lunch series providing cross-functional organizational insights and exposure to senior leadership
- Experience touring a store and learning about distribution systems
