Join ABB as a Product Development Engineering Intern to support operations, collaborate on projects, and gain hands-on experience in mechanical engineering.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with various teams to support ABB’s operations, ensuring effective coordination and timely project completion within defined timelines.
  • Leverage insights about customer needs and ABB’s offerings to identify suitable solutions for clients, leading to project results that meet customer expectations.
  • Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and other collaborative efforts.
  • Seek feedback and guidance from the manager and team members to improve performance and skills.
  • Support product design and development through 2D/3D modeling, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing integration using tools like PTC Creo and Windchill.
  • Assist in executing technical design plans and documenting results to meet performance, cost, and safety standards using Design for Six Sigma and Design for Reliability principles.

About You

What you'll need:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Capability to manage several tasks at once while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Collaborative skills to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly rate between $20 - $34, based on qualifications, graduation year, and experience.
  • Internships within the United States are not eligible for company-sponsored medical benefits, 401(k) contributions, or paid time off.
