Palantir seeks a Product Design intern to lead design sprints, create user-centered software features, and collaborate across teams in a fast-growing environment.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Lead end-to-end execution of real product features with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with Designers, Product Managers, Developers, and Forward Deployed Engineers to refine and evolve Palantir products.
- Engage in interaction and visual design, defining early product concepts, workflows, micro-interactions, and visual design using tools like Figma.
- Conduct informal user research including customer interviews, scripted usability tests, and contextual inquiry, combining qualitative and quantitative data.
- Work closely with engineers and product managers to prototype and build products, advocating for UX consistency and reusable UI components.
- Maintain awareness of software interface technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript to collaborate effectively with engineers.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Active US Security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
- Planning to graduate in 2027; this should be your final internship before graduating.
- A portfolio demonstrating at least one software interface design project (include portfolio password if applicable).
- Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to build relationships and convey design rationale.
- High empathy and dedication to understanding and empowering users.
- Strong ability to iterate through the design process, give and receive critiques, and incorporate feedback rapidly.
- Willingness to learn, make decisions independently, and ask questions when needed.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript) to collaborate with engineers.
