What You'll Do
This position presents an excellent opportunity for students seeking to develop business skills in one of the world's leading consulting firms. A general comfort with computers is necessary; however, more advanced technical skills are not required nor expected. Liberal Arts students are especially welcome to apply.
In this internship, you’ll be joining as a member of the Professional Development and Performance Product Team. You’ll be helping us build the future of our internal employee performance appraisal system, making it more equitable, efficient, and user-friendly. We are custom-building a “showcase” product with a mix of the best of Bain and vendor resources. This project will have high global visibility and impact our entire employee population.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- You will become a key member of the team by developing an in-depth knowledge of performance management system needs. Comprehensive training will be provided.
- You will assist with the support of our current performance management tools as well as the development of a new performance management tool
- Performance Management Systems:
- You will manage end-user queries through maintenance of the system support inbox. Includes setting up new users, answering basic functionality questions, and working with extended tech and talent teams to triage issues
- You will conduct standard analysis and audits to support our performance and upward feedback cycles
- You will maintain and update documentation on the system and processes as necessary
- New Performance Management System:
- You will coordinate end-user application pilots by setting up users, tracking end-user engagement, answering basic questions, collecting feedback, surfacing key takeaways, etc.
- You will test new and existing functionality in the application in a variety of scenarios, documenting results and determining potential issues.
- You will keep functionality documentation up to date
- You will collaborate with design and development vendors throughout the system build.
- You will assist with creating and maintaining an internal training website for Bain's new PD and Performance system, including dedicated resource pages by role
- You will write and assist with communications for our champion program including training materials, newsletters, and more, ensuring all language is clear and end-user-centric
- You will maintain the Champion Engagement Tracker by regularly recording participation data and analyzing metrics such as engagement from key groups, proactively flagging any trends or gaps in participation
- You will assist with other program and team needs, as required

Key Requirements
- Full-time availability (e.g., Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week) throughout the internship duration
- Located in or able to be located in Boston for the duration of the internship
- Candidates should not be enrolled in ongoing courses or have competing academic responsibilities during this internship
- Strong time management skills and ability to commit fully to the role
