Network Development Engineer Intern (Start ASAP)

Join Amazon as a Network Development Engineer Intern to deploy and automate global network infrastructure supporting multiple AWS services.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Create simple, repetitive deployment processes that increase both velocity and quality.
• Create and update network standards and ensure deployment adheres to these standards.
• Collaborate closely with internal customers on designs and solutions, taking them from concept to production.
• Work within AWS Infrastructure to deploy network infrastructure across multiple global datacenters, including existing and greenfield locations.
• Partner with automation teams to define tools that enable scaling at unprecedented volume.

About You

The company is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:

• Commit to working 40 hours per week for a maximum 12-week internship.
• Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Javascript.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Telecommunications, or a similar field, with graduation between October 2026 and December 2029.
• Preferred: Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF, and routing & switching technologies.
• Preferred: Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures.
• Preferred: Strong problem-solving skills to handle ambiguous or undefined challenges.

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting pay ranges by location: Cupertino, CA ($131,200 - $185,000 annually); Arlington, VA, Herndon, VA, and Seattle, WA ($114,100 - $160,000 annually).
