Mechanical Engineering Interns will support process mechanical equipment design, collaborating on innovative water and wastewater system projects at Jacobs.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Provide system design calculations and related design services under the guidance of Professional Engineers
- Coordinate designs with other trades including architectural and engineering teams
- Assist in the design of water pumping systems, valves, and specialized water treatment mechanical systems
- Take ownership of work completeness, accuracy, and timeliness, progressing from basic to more complex design assignments
- Work on projects delivering innovative solutions locally and worldwide
- Collaborate with a technical team on multi-discipline projects
About You
What you'll need:
- Enrollment in a degree-seeking program in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Experience working on multi-discipline project teams
- Coursework in fluid mechanics, hydraulics, or related subjects
- Desire to design building water/wastewater process mechanical systems
- Ideally, completed courses in fluid mechanics or hydraulics
- Proficiency in Revit and 3D CADD
- Prior internship or similar work experience with a design firm
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $40,000 to $60,000, paid hourly based on hours worked
- Salary determined by work location, skills, experience, and education
