Dewberry seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist in designing building mechanical systems for the Raleigh, NC office in Summer 2026.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Assist project team in designing building mechanical systems including plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC.
  • Prepare mechanical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and budgets under supervision of a registered Professional Engineer.
  • Work collaboratively with project team members, clients, and contractors.
  • Maintain attention to detail, quality control, and demonstrate strong technical design skills.

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or similar equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of experience; previous internship with a consulting engineering firm is a plus.
  • Certification as an Engineering Intern (NCEES) and experience with Revit, AutoCAD, MS Word, and MS Excel is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license; occasional travel may be required.
  • Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.

Training & Development

  • Hands-on project experience during the summer intern program.
  • Participation in workshops and events including networking, professional development, career planning, and DiSC assessment.
  • Opportunity to work on a summer-long group project with firm leaders addressing future strategy issues.
