Mechanical Engineering Intern to support power plant and industrial facility projects at Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Work on a project team assisting engineering members in project execution
  • Contribute to design and modifications/upgrades of power plant or industrial facility systems and components
  • Assist in preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications
  • Support project reporting tasks including tracking and evaluating project activities, progress, and data
  • Work under the direction of senior engineers

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Active enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong academic background and coursework in mechanical systems analysis, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and/or heat transfer
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • U.S. work authorization without sponsorship (no sponsorship provided)
  • Preferred but not required: prior related internship or co-op experience
  • Preferred but not required: understanding of practical application of mechanical engineering principles
  • Preferred enrollment in an ABET-accredited engineering program

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly wage range: $17.50 - $27.00
