Mechanical Engineer Intern (May 2026)

Mechanical Engineering Intern at ENERCON Services to work on impactful energy projects including nuclear and renewable energy systems.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Engage actively in tasks critical to project success, including learning and applying design codes and standards.
• Collaborate with senior engineers for field data collection and project support.
• Adapt to new software systems and connect classroom knowledge with practical industry work.
• Manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain organization and efficiency.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude towards learning and feedback.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Students graduating with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
• Preferred graduation date between December 2026 and May 2027.
• Availability to start internship in May or June 2026.
• Preferred coursework: Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Material Science, and Statics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, navigate client sites, and work outdoors.
• Willingness to travel for client and company projects or meetings.
• U.S. citizenship required for roles involving federal contracts.
• Completion of pre-interview assessments and submission of college transcript if under 1 year post-graduation.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings, background checks, and motor vehicle record checks.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
