Join Arcadis as an Entry Level Energy/Mechanical Engineer to support energy efficiency, electrification, and clean energy projects primarily in New York State and the Northeast U.S.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting project execution and delivery focused on HVAC and plumbing design for decarbonization strategies such as energy efficiency, building/fleet electrification, and distributed renewable generation.
- Reviewing building and energy codes, performing load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, systems evaluation, HVAC design and specifications, and working with AutoCAD or Revit for project drawings.
- Supporting commissioning and construction management of energy efficiency projects to ensure compliance with owner requirements and building codes.
- Gathering information, evaluating and analyzing energy use data, completing energy efficiency, distributed generation, alternative energy calculations, building and system modeling, and technical and financial calculations.
- Performing or overseeing engineering analyses, modeling, and calculations for feasibility studies, energy audits, sustainability plans, and detailed designs.
- Supporting or coordinating field activities including energy audits, lighting inventories, implementation oversight, measurement and verification, and on-site construction support.
- Corresponding with task managers, project managers, project teams, and clients.
About You
The company is looking for candidates who have:
- 0-2 years of prior work or internship experience in consulting engineering or related clean energy/MEP sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Energy Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a robust work ethic.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
- Self-motivation, dependability, and ownership of tasks with flexibility to adapt to new assignments.
- Solid understanding of engineering concepts related to building and mechanical systems, energy efficiency, and clean energy technologies.
- Knowledge of building control, power, and lighting systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or Autodesk Revit is advantageous.
- Willingness to participate in a combination of office work, field assignments, and travel.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $49,390 - $79,023 per year, based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
