Join Southeastern Freight Lines as a Management Trainee to develop leadership skills in operations within a leading LTL logistics company.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Participate in a 16-week intensive Operations Management Trainee Program.
  • Learn basic principles of the transportation industry and efficient cross-dock operations.
  • Develop leadership communication and relationship-building skills under mentor guidance.
  • Complete leadership training through guided and independent study.
  • Collaborate daily with Support Center and Service Center associates on training tasks.
  • Accompany and observe an Account Manager during customer sales calls.
  • Occasionally accompany drivers on local delivery routes to understand freight delivery processes.
  • Relocate to another facility upon program completion for first leadership role in Operations.

About You

The company is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation or Logistics, or at least two years of related work experience.
  • Acceptable driving history aligned with company standards.
  • Flexibility and readiness to relocate as needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Very strong work ethic to succeed in a dynamic environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Average annual starting pay: $50,000-$60,000.

Training & Development

  • Intensive 16-week training program designed to prepare for leadership/supervisory roles.
  • Mentorship provided throughout the program.
  • Opportunities to interface with various departments and gain hands-on experience.

Career Progression

  • Relocation to another facility for first leadership role in Operations upon program completion.
