Join J.P. Morgan’s Machine Learning Center of Excellence as a Summer Associate to develop and deploy advanced ML models across diverse financial domains.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Research and explore new machine learning methods through independent study, conferences, experimentation, and knowledge sharing
- Develop state-of-the-art machine learning models for tasks such as natural language processing, speech recognition, time-series predictions, and recommendation systems
- Collaborate with Business, Technology, Product Management, Legal, Compliance, Strategy, and Business Management teams to deploy solutions into production
About You
The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- Enrolled in an MS or PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Optimization, Data Science, or related fields, or equivalent research/industry experience
- Expected graduation date between December 2026 and August 2027
- Solid background in NLP, large language models, speech recognition and modeling, or personalization/recommendation with familiarity of state-of-the-art practices
- Proficient in Python and experienced with machine learning and deep learning toolkits such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, and Pandas
- Scientific thinking with ability to design experiments, training frameworks, and evaluate model performance metrics aligned with business goals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts to technical and business audiences
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments
Preferred qualifications include:
- Strong background in Mathematics and Statistics
- Familiarity with financial services industries
- Published research in NLP, deep learning, reinforcement learning, or speech recognition at major conferences or journals
- Ability to develop and debug production-quality code
- Familiarity with continuous integration models and unit test development
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $135,000.00 - $155,000.00 (New York, NY)
- Commission-based pay and/or discretionary incentive compensation in cash and/or forfeitable equity for eligible roles
