Join ABB as a Lean Challenge Summer Intern in Mebane, NC, supporting production engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Obtain feedback from critical stakeholders involved in new product development or process improvement
  • Work with cross-functional teams to execute projects on time and on budget
  • Develop and maintain web-based applications to improve process efficiency and eliminate waste
  • Find, pitch, and execute improvement ideas as full projects if approved
  • Document best practices and standards implemented
  • Participate in local and international competitions developing continuous improvement team projects based on quality wins and lean manufacturing principles

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field at an accredited U.S. institution
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite in Mebane, North Carolina
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now and in the future
  • Critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high quality standards
  • Strong collaboration skills to convey ideas, share information, and provide project updates

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly pay between $20 - $34, based on qualifications, graduation year, and experience
  • Internships in the U.S. are not eligible for company-sponsored medical benefits, 401(k) contributions, or paid time off
