Participate in the Internship opportunity at ABB, focusing on continuous improvement projects and Lean Manufacturing in a hybrid onsite role.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Leading a hands-on Continuous Improvement project using DMAIC methodology.
  • Conducting time studies and waste evaluations across production lines to identify inefficiencies.
  • Applying Lean Manufacturing tools such as Spaghetti diagrams, Line balancing, 7 Wastes analysis, Kaizen events, 5S audits, and Standard work documentation.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and exploring various departments within the factory to gather insights and drive improvements.
  • Preparing and delivering weekly presentations to site management to report progress, findings, and recommendations.
  • Engaging in change management by challenging the status quo and working closely with production employees to implement sustainable changes.
  • Documenting project milestones, data analysis, and implementing solutions to support long-term operational excellence.

About You

What you'll need:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master’s degree program in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Collaborative skills to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.

Compensation

  • Hourly rate between $20 - $34, based on qualifications, graduation year, and experience.
