Join GE Appliances as an Interaction Design intern to develop innovative home appliance products in a collaborative, manufacturing environment.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Communicate design concepts through presentations, design specifications, and prototypes.
- Work on various product lines to design brand-centric products.
- Apply sustainable and universal design principles to develop forward-thinking products.
- Collaborate with engineering, usability, marketing, and suppliers throughout the design process.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Full-time enrollment at an accredited school or university pursuing a degree in Industrial Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or related design program.
- Undergraduate or Graduate student with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Ability to communicate ideas verbally, in writing, and visually to present complex ideas clearly.
- Experience with story-boarding, mapping, and wireframing using Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Suite.
- Experience with time-based and interactive media design using prototyping tools.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and mobile application design and development.
- Visual design, multimedia design, and hardware development experience are pluses.
- Willingness and ability to relocate to Louisville, KY for the year-long internship.
- Legal authorization to work in the hiring country/region; no visa sponsorship available.
