Interaction Design Internship (Year-Long) (Rolling Intake)

Join GE Appliances as an Interaction Design intern to develop innovative home appliance products in a collaborative, manufacturing environment.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Communicate design concepts through presentations, design specifications, and prototypes.
• Work on various product lines to design brand-centric products.
• Apply sustainable and universal design principles to develop forward-thinking products.
• Collaborate with engineering, usability, marketing, and suppliers throughout the design process.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Full-time enrollment at an accredited school or university pursuing a degree in Industrial Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or related design program.
• Undergraduate or Graduate student with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Ability to communicate ideas verbally, in writing, and visually to present complex ideas clearly.
• Experience with story-boarding, mapping, and wireframing using Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Suite.
• Experience with time-based and interactive media design using prototyping tools.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and mobile application design and development.
• Visual design, multimedia design, and hardware development experience are pluses.
• Willingness and ability to relocate to Louisville, KY for the year-long internship.
• Legal authorization to work in the hiring country/region; no visa sponsorship available.
