Join Sargent & Lundy as an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer Intern to support nuclear power plant projects with a focus on electrical and mechanical integration.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Assist engineering team members in project execution involving design, modifications, and upgrades to power plant systems.
- Work under senior engineers to utilize and expand knowledge in electronic process sensors, digital controllers, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, steam turbines, and reactors.
- Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Track and evaluate project activities, progress, and associated data for project reporting.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong academic background and coursework in analog and digital control systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Preferred but not required: prior related internship or co-op experience.
- Preferred but not required: coursework and/or experience in mechatronics and/or robotics.
- Preferred but not required: understanding of practical application of electrical and mechanical engineering principles to project design.
- Preferred enrollment in an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
- Note: The company does not sponsor work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage range: $17.50 - $27.00.
