Join Sargent & Lundy as an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer Intern to support nuclear power plant projects with a focus on electrical and mechanical integration.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Assist engineering team members in project execution involving design, modifications, and upgrades to power plant systems.
  • Work under senior engineers to utilize and expand knowledge in electronic process sensors, digital controllers, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, steam turbines, and reactors.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
  • Track and evaluate project activities, progress, and associated data for project reporting.

About You

The company is looking for:

  • Active enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Strong academic background and coursework in analog and digital control systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Preferred but not required: prior related internship or co-op experience.
  • Preferred but not required: coursework and/or experience in mechatronics and/or robotics.
  • Preferred but not required: understanding of practical application of electrical and mechanical engineering principles to project design.
  • Preferred enrollment in an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
  • Note: The company does not sponsor work authorization in the U.S. for this position.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly wage range: $17.50 - $27.00.
