Join Sargent & Lundy as an Entry-Level Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to support power plant design and controls improvement projects.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Working on project teams with other I&C engineers on new power plants, modifications, and plant controls betterment
- Involvement in power distribution designs and preparation of specifications for procurement of instrumentation and controls equipment and installation services
- Participating in power plant design coordination, engineering calculation preparation, and electrical control circuit design as part of a multi-discipline project team
- Traveling to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification of designs
- Engaging in peer-learning through Sargent & Lundy’s systems of process and “Communities of Practice”
- Working on a hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence 3 days per week
About You
The company is looking for candidates with:
- A BS or MS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering graduating in Spring 2026 with strong coursework in analog and digital control systems
- Understanding of practical application of instrumentation and controls engineering, including systems, principles, techniques, and procedures for project design
- Proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Excel and Access
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Exceptional work habits and a resourceful, enthusiastic attitude
- U.S. work authorization without sponsorship
Valued but not required:
- ABET-accredited engineering degree
- Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and Engineer in Training designation
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans, drawings, and models
- Related engineering internship or co-op experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $60,660.00 - $87,090.00
