Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Equity Division seeks Summer Analysts for a 10-week program focused on equity and derivatives trading, structuring, and sales.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Participate in a 10-week Summer Analyst Program with one week of classroom training followed by at least three rotations across the Institutional Equity Division (IED).
- Pursue one of two program tracks: Institutional Equity or Institutional Equity Derivatives Trading and Structuring.
- Work alongside experienced professionals in a fast-paced, client-facing, and market-driven environment.
- Engage in meaningful projects and initiatives across IED, collaborating with colleagues.
- Gain exposure to a variety of roles, products, and services within the division.
- Attend Senior Management Speaker Series, desk teach-ins, cross-divisional networking, community service events, and performance reviews.
- Participate in a robust mentorship program.
- For Derivatives Trading and Structuring track, work with products including Equity Options, Securitized Derivatives, Convertible Bonds, Baskets, ETFs, Exotics, Single Name Options, Structuring, and Quantitative Derivatives Strategies.
About You
The company is looking for candidates who:
- Are pursuing an undergraduate degree with technical proficiency in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering, graduating December 2026 or Spring 2027.
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Are comfortable applying statistical analysis and deriving value from data.
- Are familiar with coding languages such as Python, Q, R, SQL, or VBA.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Are collaborative, quick learners, adaptable, versatile, multi-taskers with a strong work ethic.
- Have a keen interest in finance and markets; prior finance or trading knowledge is not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Expected base pay rate of $52.89 per hour at commencement of employment, determined on an individualized basis.
- Total compensation may include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Training & Development
- One-day orientation introducing the Firm and primary businesses.
- Divisional-specific training events to develop core skills.
- Exposure to a wide variety of roles and products within IED.
