Join Google as a Hardware Engineering Intern to design and build hardware and software technologies powering Google’s global services.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Design and build hardware and software technologies for Google’s services within the Platforms Infrastructure Engineering team.
- Work on complex computational challenges enabled by custom hardware designed and made in-house.
- Contribute to Devices and Services’ mission by advancing AI-first experiences and silicon innovation for performance.
- Collaborate on research, design, and development of new technologies and hardware to improve user interaction with computing.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Penultimate academic year student or returning to a degree program after internship completion.
- Located in the United States for the duration of the internship.
- Proficient in English for global collaboration and communication.
- Experience in one or more of the following: hardware system integration, signal and power integrity, system validation, product design (mechanical/thermal), computer architecture, FPGAs, embedded systems, memory systems, modeling or simulation for power/thermal analysis, prototyping, testing, and debugging of data center systems.
- Experience with data center systems, consumer electronics, or device manufacturing.
- Familiarity with board layout and CAD tools (e.g., NX, Creo, Solidworks), systems integration, electromechanical assemblies, manufacturing and fabrication techniques, rapid prototyping, or technical subsystems such as wireless, antenna, RF, imaging, display, sensors, audio, charging power, or batteries.
- Currently attending a degree program in the US and available to work full time for 12 weeks outside university term time.
Compensation & Benefits
- US base salary range: $81,000 - $107,000 (determined by role, level, and location).
- Salary excludes bonus, equity, or benefits.
