Join Cisco as a Hardware Engineer II Intern to contribute to innovative hardware design impacting global internet infrastructure.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Impact product development from circuit design to high volume manufacturing.
- Engage in ASIC Design and Verification, System/Board Design, Circuit Board Layout, Hardware Automation, Validation and Test, Signal Integrity, and Power Design.
- Collaborate with diverse teams across hardware, software, and manufacturing.
- Work on projects in cloud, social, mobile/wireless, video, VoIP, collaboration, web, routing, switching, IPv6, data center, HPC, Telepresence, and more.
- Participate in Supply Chain Operations and Services teams to deliver customer-focused solutions and gain hands-on experience with network infrastructures.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Currently enrolled undergraduate with 2 years relevant experience or graduate student with 0 years relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Foundational understanding of hardware engineering principles and experience with hardware design tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence, Mentor Graphics) and simulation software.
- Familiarity with hardware testing and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and technical problem-solving skills.
- Preferred: Ability to lead multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work toward short- and long-term goals.
- Preferred: Experience building positive working relationships within diverse teams.
- Preferred: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: Proven collaboration across business groups (hardware, software, manufacturing).
- Preferred: Exposure to scripting or programming languages (Python, MATLAB, C/C++) for test automation or data analysis.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range for U.S. locations: $44,000.00 - $185,000.00 depending on location and role specifics.
