Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Prepare drawings detailing designed systems and perform system design calculations
- Conduct system load calculations to establish equipment size
- Write reports summarizing calculation methodologies
- Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish needs and discuss design issues
- Collaborate and coordinate with engineers from other disciplines, companies, and external consultants
- Incorporate sustainable design methods in building projects
- Select equipment for building systems
- Perform construction administration including site visits and submittal reviews
- Assist and perform calculations for design-specific piping systems across various projects
About You
The company is looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Sanitary, Environmental, or Architectural Engineering
- Coursework in fluid hydraulics, piping, or fluid dynamics
- Proven interest in the built environment
- Ability to interface with clients effectively
- Good time management, multitasking, and sustained focus on long tasks
- Strong communication skills to convey technical ideas accessibly
- Initiative, enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, teamwork, and creativity
- Effective prioritization and exceptional organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based work
- Presentation skills with colleagues and clients at all levels
- EIT/FE certification preferred
- Membership in ASPE, ASHRAE, or NFPA preferred
- Courses in sustainability or USGBC participation preferred
- AutoCAD or Revit drafting skills preferred
- Internship experience in an engineering-related firm preferred
- Evidence of past internship or extracurricular activity in the field preferred
- Proven ability to perform in a paid work environment with intermittent supervision preferred
- Past history of technical presentations and technical writing preferred
- Evidence of personal investment in academic or extracurricular field preferred
- Must be eligible to work in the US without employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future
Compensation & Benefits
- Seattle hiring range: $74,000 to $81,500 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skill level
