Arcadis seeks an Entry-Level Geologist or Environmental Scientist for field and office work supporting environmental assessment and remediation projects.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist Project Managers and Task Managers in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
- Conduct fieldwork, including soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling, with 50% to 75% time spent in the field.
- Oversee drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, subcontractor oversight, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, and vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys.
- Prepare subcontracts and oversee subcontractor work.
- Write and prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
- Perform office tasks such as task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management.
- Travel regionally up to 1-2 days per week on average, and occasionally within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time; estimated travel up to 75% during the first two years, reducing to 50% by the third year.
- Conduct all fieldwork with a focus on health and safety; a valid driver's license is required.
About You

- Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a closely related field (environmental science, physical science).
- Preferred: Master of Science degree in Geology or a closely related field.
- Preferred: Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
- Strong organizational and team-building skills.
- Comfortable with dynamic workflow and independent as well as team-based work.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, creative problem solver.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $53,094 - $84,950, based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
