Forward Deployed Software Engineer, Internship - US Government - Washington, D.C. (Start ASAP)

Be a Forward Deployed Software Engineer Intern, working directly with customers to design and implement data-driven solutions for critical real-world problems.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Working in small teams with minimal supervision to own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects.
• Discussing architecture with engineers, managing large-scale data, coding custom web applications, and engaging with customer executives.
• Establishing team strategy and collaborating internally with FDSEs, product teams, and Deployment Strategists, as well as externally with customers.
• Taking responsibility for real-world projects and outcomes relied upon by customers.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Willingness and interest to travel 25-50% to client sites, with variation by team and location.
• Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal direction.
• Strong collaboration skills with technical and non-technical teams in a dynamic environment.
• Creativity in solving technical problems involving data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks.
• Interest in working with large-scale data to solve valuable business problems.
• Willingness to undergo a US government background investigation if required.
• Engineering background preferred in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar.
• Must be planning to graduate in 2027, and this should be the final internship before graduation.

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated salary of $10,000 per month, subject to qualifications, experience, and skills.
