Arcadis seeks an entry-level Field Geologist in Clifton Park, NY, focusing on fieldwork and environmental consulting with extensive travel opportunities.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting 70% to 90% fieldwork including soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling, subcontractor oversight, and remedial system operations and maintenance.
- Supporting task managers, technical experts, and project managers on multiple projects within the Resilience Environment team.
- Preparing subcontracts and overseeing subcontractor work.
- Writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
- Completing office work such as data compilation and interpretation, health & safety plan preparation, regulatory file reviews, and task coordination with vendors, laboratories, contractors, and coworkers.
- Traveling regionally 2 to 3 days per week on average, with occasional U.S. travel up to two weeks.
- Performing fieldwork with a focus on health and safety, including working in all weather conditions and meeting physical demands such as lifting heavy equipment and working alone at remote sites.
About You
The company is looking for:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in geology, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 0-2 years of related work experience.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Geology or related field.
- Preferred: Current OSHA HAZWOPER 40 HR / 8 HR refresher certification.
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and work ethic.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to take initiative and think critically and creatively.
- Good driving record and ability to work extended hours in the field.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $49,390 - $79,023, based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
